USPA NEWS - GITEX the world’s largest tech and startup event, takes center stage in the UAE for this year’s 44th edition during five days (14-18th October 2024), showcasing the most advanced technologies at World Trade Center. This year’s edition is held under the theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy”, Among these innovations to be showcased, the ambitious app SAHATNA, is unveiled as a premiere here, at the Abud Dhabi space, where the UAE’s government’s digital and AI solutions have stunned the visitors and expertise over their spectacular showcase. With over 6,500 exhibiting companies, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from more than 180 countries participating across 38 halls of innovation and business opportunities, these blockbuster events will see the UAE “strategically propel the next generation of AI-driven technologies”.


This why we decided to put this topic under the spotlight and having our reporter correspondent Rahma Rachdi, sat and had a candid conversation, interviewing Ibrahim AL JALLAF, Executive Director of Digital Health at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, today, 17th of October 2024.

SAHATNA IS HEALTHCARE APP. WHICH NAME MEANS "OUR HEALTH" IN ARABIC
While promoting international business development, entrepreneurship, and investment engagements to benefit enterprises, the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, today launched SAHATNA, an integrated-mobile app. The app empowers residents to manage their health by providing simple and convenient access to a wide range of health and wellness services such as comprehensive appointment booking, teleconsultations, access to health records and genomic reports and many other advanced features. The application is set to spur on emirate-wide behaviour change that will lead to improved long-term health outcomes and a healthier future for all.
The unveiling of SHATNA app was attended by Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, along with several prominent leaders and representatives of partners and stakeholders. SAHATNA, meaning “Our health” in Arabic, marks a significant milestone in the Department of Health's ongoing commitment to harnessing the power of data to create the world’s most intelligent, patient-centric healthcare system. Continually, addressing the unique health needs of Abu Dhabi’s community and ensuring a healthier future for all residents.

SHATANA app, includes innovative features like an AI symptom checker, allowing users to input their symptoms and receive potential condition assessments. This tool helps users understand the severity of their symptoms and decide whether to seek emergency care or visit an urgent healthcare Among the key features, with SHATANA app,’s robust appointments scheduling system, users will have access to the emirate’s entire healthcare ecosystem at their fingertips and choose to engage with their care providers in-person or through a video consultation. Users can also access their medical records in Malaffi and connect the profiles of their loved ones, keeping track of their family’s health as well as screening and vaccine records. Through SAHATNA, for the first time, the participants of the Emirati Genome Program (EGP) will have access to their personalised wellness and lifestyle genomic reports, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyle based on their unique genetic makeup.

This includes enhancements to accessing primary healthcare and IFHAS screening services as well as an AI patient assistant to help users effectively navigate the app and help with their health questions.”
Visitors in Abu Dhabi can also benefit from the distinguished services offered by SAHATNA such as the ability to identify healthcare facilities closest to them, preview healthcare services available as well as learn about the possibility of in-person and remote consultations. Dr Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health at DoH, said, “More than 60 percent of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare facilities have already been connected to the “SAHATNA” app, which provides instant access to healthcare services in the Emirate with just one touch and through one app, with no need to use any other apps. SAHATNA App. IS ONE ALL IN ONE APP DEDICATED TO PATIENT’S DATA MANAGEMENT

Dr Ibrahim AL Jallaf stressed on the Best Doctor Section, within SAHATNA app. as he goes explaining how it works “A doctor focuses search is rather than hospital search” he said. As we asked the question to Dr Ibrahim AL Jallaf whether the bias can be reduced to the minimum, when it comes to targeting a preference and also how to match the most the psychical symptoms and the medical response he answered “We use the Geodimetric educate the AI complication rates and it is also important to our population. Our reporter as she is aware of the GDPR European Union’ law, wondered whether SHATANA app, is complying with E.U GDP, U.S COPPA, as the United Arab Emirates are representing the largest hub in the world hosting residents and tourists from 190 nations.
