Since its Opening in 2006, the Zervos Museum has endeavored, thanks to the Department's Promotion and Acquisition Policy, to promote the Fundamental Artists of the "Cahiers d'Art". It constitutes One of the Rare Coherent Collections of Modern Art in Burgundy.
Throughout the Exhibition Rooms, Visitors can admire the Works brought together by the Founder of the Famous Magazine, who frequented the Greatest Artists of his Time.
Sculptures by Laurens, Hajdu and Giacometti rub Shoulders with Mobiles by Calder, while Works by Picasso and Gonzál confirm the Links that existed between these Two Artists. The Museum also presents Léger's First Mural painted in Vézelay.
The Public can also appreciate Paintings by Kandinsky, Ernst, Miró, Hélion, Brauner, Dufy, Chagall and even Villon and Poliakoff. The Magnificent Attic Space allows you to discover the Editorial Activity of Zervos as well as its Collection of Archaeological Objects (Mediterranean Idols) and Ethnographic Objects.
Following the Temporary Exhibitions, Several Funds have been created or expanded: Calder, Le Corbusier, Éluard... The 2022 Summer Exhibition “Kandinsky. Black Forms on White" made it possible to acquire Pieces that do not appear in any other French Public Collection: Three Engravings (Two by Paul Klee, One by Kandinsky), Two Monographs published by "Cahiers d'Art" and a Pen Drawing by Kandinsky.
With its Medieval Vaulted Spaces and its Terrace opening onto the Morvan, the Zervos Museum has been a Must-See for Modern Art in Burgundy since 2006.
The Zervos Museum offers Schools a Specific Welcome and Supports, over a School Year, a Project for Primary or Secondary Students around One of the Modern Art Artists presented.
A Way "Outside the Walls” to introduce Students to the Museum and its Works. With the Program: Visit to the Museum, Visit to the Workshop of a Local Artist and Creative Workshops within the School.
